Division III Golf

Zollner Hands-on Experience

In 2012, Zollner Golf Course proudly hosted the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf National Championships. It has been a three–time host of the National Collegiate Golf Championships and served as the site for sectional State Open Qualifying and Indiana PGA Junior Age Group Championships. The course, on Trine University′s main campus in Angola, is also home to Trine′s men and women golf teams. Both teams have enjoyed strong success through the years.

The men′s team has won 16 titles in two conferences, 15 state and regional championships, and has twice reached 10th place in NAIA national tournaments. The women′s team was crowned the 1997 NAIA National Champions and placed fourth in 1996, third in 1999, and fifth in 1998 and 2000. Trine athletics became affiliated with NCAA Division III in 2004.

Zollner Golf Course also plays an integral role in the coursework and hands-on experience for Thomas & Joy LaCour Golf Management students. Zollner gives golf management students opportunities to learn different aspects of the golf industry. Through giving lessons, tournament operations, merchandising, learning point-of-sale systems, internships, and performing club repairs, students gain valuable experience to prepare for meaningful careers in the golf industry.
